[Update: Fizzy Dayz has closed and Draft Land has taken over the location.] “Soft reset” is a trend I’d attribute to Singapore’s bar scene in 2022 — the scene seemed to have developed swanky speakeasy fatigue and new bars were getting more and more ratchet as dive was coming back in trend and Fizzy Dayz is leading the charge in 2023.

[Update: California Republic has closed.] Despite being the interconnected metropolis it is, there are still certain cuisines that are scantly featured in Singapore. One of those is Californian cuisine where only a rare few restaurants like Rosemead fly that grizzly bear insignia high. Joining the fray though, is a newly opened California Republic bringing the California dream to Singapore.
The charisma of a good pizza is undeniable when the dough, the sauce, and the toppings are all done just right. At its core, pizza is a very simple dish. So even with the prevalent movement of artisan pizza joints all over Singapore, I’m more than happy to welcome the unpretentious NY-style pies of Sonny’s Pizza to the fold.
